Es wäre ja auch ein Wunder gewesen, wenn der Kleine mit der Hand-Mund-Fuß-Krankheit verschont geblieben wäre. Nun denn…

Angesichts der doch etwas anstrengenden Situation (im Internet steht dauernd etwas von “eher mildem Verlauf”…wir scheinen da eine der unglücklichen Ausnahmen zu sein. Die Große konnte nicht nur vier Tage lang vor Schmerzen nichts essen, sondern die Blasen halten sich auch nicht an Hand, Mund und Fuß, sondern breiten sich munter über den gesamten Körper aus), also angesichts der Situation bin ich froh, dass Karsten gerade zu Hause bleiben kann und wir das gemeinsam stemmen.

Das Einkaufen zum Beispiel ist viel entspannter, wenn man nicht mit allen Kindern im Gepäck losziehen muss. Und Karsten kauft gerne ein. Er ist, seit ich ihn kenne, ein begeisterter “bogof”-Käufer (buy one get one for free), egal um was es sich handelt. Angeboten kann er einfach nicht widerstehen. Nun ist es gerade so, dass die Große kaum etwas anderes als Eis essen kann. Die erste Ladung Smarty-Eis (6 Stück), die Karsten am Freitag mitbrachte, entpuppte sich wegen der Waffel als unpraktisch, weil es zu sehr wehtat. Beim nächsten Einkauf am Samstag brachte er deswegen einfaches Schoko- und Vanilleeis am Stiel mit. 12 Stück. Und ein Angebot: die Alternative von Magnum Mandel war um 50% reduziert. Auch 12 Stück.

Und siehe da, sie war heute immer noch reduziert. Also nochmal 12 Stück.

Nun die Preisfrage: wieviel Eis haben wir gerade in unserem kleinen, dreifächrigen Tiefkühlschrank?

Immerhin, es soll in den nächsten Tagen heiß werden. Zum ersten Mal dieses Jahr. Da muss man ja auch vorbereitet sein 🙂

It would have been miraculous if the hobbit would have been spared, right? Well, we are off to the second round of hand, mouth, foot desease.

Regarding this rather exhausting situation (online one always reads about “relatively mild versions” of the desease…we seem to be one of the unlucky exceptions. The little one not only couldn’t eat for four days due to very painful blisters in her mouth, but the blisters also don’t restrain themselves to the hands, feet and mouth but happily spread over her whole body)…anyway, regarding this situation I am more than glad that Karsten is able to stay aat home sso that we can master the days together.

Shopping, for instance, shopping is just so much easier without two children! Especially two sick children. And Karsten loves to go shopping. Ever since I know him, he is a very passionate “bogof”-shopper, no matter what product it is. Right now, the little one can eat almost nothing else but ice-cream. So he bought smarty-icecream on Friday (6!). But it turned out to be not-suitable…the waffle hurts too much. So on Saturday, he bought simple chocolate and vanilla ice-cream popsicles (12!). And a 50% off-offer: the alternative magnum almond (12!). And horray, the offer was still there today, so he came back with another box of magnum almond (12 again).

And? How many popsicles do we have in our small, three-compartment freezer right now?

At least it is supposed to get hot during the next days. For the first time this summer. One needs to be prepared for that!
