Wir (also die Kinder und ich) gewöhnen uns gerade in einen neuen Alltag ein, einen Alltag mit Schulkind und Kindergartenkind, mit neuen Aufgaben, neuen Zeiten und neuen Wegen. Da bleibt der Blog (und leider nicht nur der) mal wieder sehr auf der Strecke. Die letzten Wochen waren vollgepackt mit Urlaub, neuen Eindrücken, Aufregung, viel Besuch und mit der Einschulung. So viele schöne Momente, auch einige anstrengende Momente (die sogenannte Vorschulpubertät lässt grüßen, aber hallo!), und alles müsste eigentlich festgehalten werden.

Der Einfachkeit halber also wieder ein paar Bilder, ein etwas verspäteter Urlaubsgruß aus Dänemark! Dort haben wir eine Woche die Gegend um Christiansfeld unsicher gemacht, gebadet, Strandkrabben gefangen (und wieder frei gelassen), uns im Kolding Hus als Königsfamilie verkleidet und im Botanischen Garten in Kolding sehr lange in den Bambus-Gängen gespielt (wirklich sehr zu empfehlen!!). Einen Ausflug ins Legoland gab es auch, als kleine Kindheitserinnerung für Karsten, und Fähre gefahren wurde ebenfalls. Generell ist mal wieder zu verzeichnen, wie glücklich unsere Kinder am Wasser sind!

Für mehr Transparenz sei gesagt: wir haben die täglichen Tobsuchtsanfälle ganz knapp überlebt, haben KEINE rote Grütze in den Supermärkten gefunden (was war denn da los? Und das, wo ich extra versucht habe, den Verkäufer auf Dänisch danach zu fragen, während Karsten sich peinlich berührt hinterm Regal herumdrückte als ich versuchte “rødgrød med fløde”* auszusprechen) und während wir weg waren, hat es bei uns zu Hause durch’s Dach geregnet. Aber wir vertrauen wie immer darauf, dass das Unterbewusstsein all dies in ein-zwei Jahren verdrängt hat!

We (as in: the kids and I) are getting used to a new daily routine these days. A daily routine with one school kid and one kindergarden kid, with new tasks, new times and new ways. So the blog, like many other things, is not getting much attention right now. The last weekds have been filled with holiday, new impressions, excitement, a lot of visitors and overnight-guests and with the first days of school. So many beautiful moments, completed with some exhausting ones (the so called pre-school puberty moved in with us and I hope it wont stay long!) and in my ideal world, all of these moments should be written down!

To make it more simple (and less time consuming as time is scarce these days), I am updating you with some impressions from our holiday in Denmark. We spend a week around Kolding and Christiansfeld where we had a fun time at the beach, catching crabs (and releasing them again, of course), getting dressed in royal costumes at the Kolding Hus and playing hide and seek in the bamboo forest at the Botanical Garden (very recommendable!!). We had a day at Legoland which was a childhood memory for Karsten, and we had ferry drives and Danish hotdogs. Generally, we realised again how happy our kids are when we spend time at the waterside.

For a bit more transparency I should also mention that we only just survived the daily tantrums. We didn’t get any red fruit jelly in any of the supermarkets (what happened?? I even tried to ask the shop assistant in Danish while Karsten was hiding behind the shelves as he was to embarassed by my attempts to pronounce “rødgrød med fløde”)  and while we were away, we got the message that it is raining through our roof. Well, we trust our subconciousness to forget all that and to only remember the good things of the holiday 🙂
