Like last year we are still no big friends of Valentines Day….following up on the Finnish tradition on the 14th of February we do, however, wish all of our friends a Happy Friendship Day!! It is great to have you in our lives!

The weather in Zurich surprisingly showed itself from its best side today. It was such a beautiful day, causing real spring fever despite the patches of snow which are still around, so we took the train to Zurich and went for a walk along the lakeside. No matter when you are going for a walk along lake Zurich, it’s always crowded – it’s a place to relax, to enjoy, to listen to street musicians, to wander around and of course to see and be seen. On good days you have a beautiful view over the lake with the outline of the snowy mountains in the background (though today they were a bit misty). Now add a big, first ice-cream of the year and it’s perfect. So perfect one can even forget the numerous little tantrums of the offspring (something I’ll never understand: how can you throw a tantrum if you were just fed with ice-cream waffles??).

As soon as the sun set, it got real chilly again so after a proper airing of the flat to get rid of the winter fug we switched on the heating again and I might end the day with a hot chocolate. But oh, I do hope that we’ll have a few more sunny days coming up – it makes such a difference!!!
